Municipal water is fluoridated at 0.7 ppm. If you prefer fluoride-free water for health, infant formula, or personal preference, targeted filtration is the solution.
The US Public Health Service recommends fluoridating public water supplies at 0.7 mg/L (ppm) to reduce tooth decay. Most municipal water systems in the US fluoridate their water within this range. However, some consumers choose to reduce or eliminate fluoride from their drinking water — particularly for infants, young children, or individuals with thyroid concerns.
Standard carbon block and GAC filters do not remove fluoride. Effective fluoride reduction requires activated alumina media, bone char, reverse osmosis, or a combination. A water test will confirm your current fluoride level and help determine the right system and cartridge replacement schedule.
