Brackish water and seawater desalination plants, mobile containerized units, and produced water treatment. High-pressure SWRO with energy recovery for maximum efficiency.
Desalination removes dissolved salts and minerals from brackish water, seawater, and other high-TDS sources to produce freshwater suitable for drinking, irrigation, industrial process use, or discharge compliance. Our systems use high-pressure reverse osmosis membranes as the core treatment technology, with appropriate pretreatment to maximize membrane life and recovery rates.
Seawater RO requires operating pressures of 800–1,000 psi — making energy the dominant operating cost. Modern pressure exchangers and turbochargers recover 95%+ of the energy from the high-pressure reject stream, reducing net energy consumption by up to 60% compared to systems without energy recovery. For large plants this represents millions of dollars in annual savings.
SWRO membranes are sensitive to fouling by suspended solids, biofouling, and scaling. Adequate pretreatment — typically ultrafiltration or multimedia filtration, antiscalant dosing, and biocide treatment — is essential for sustainable long-term operation. We design pretreatment systems integrally with the RO system to ensure performance guarantees can be met.
